Move forward as Senior Business Development Manager at DSV in Venlo.

Ready to play a crucial role in actively developing our growth ambition? We are looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to make an immediate impact within our growth-oriented Road Division.

DSV Road is dedicated to providing full loads, part loads and groupage shipments in Europe, North America, South Africa and the Middle East. Where our focus is currently on growing in groupage volumes through our European network of distribution terminals. You’re on it.

How you do this? DSV Road is at a turning point and has the ambition to become the most digitised groupage service provider. As our new Senior Business Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in developing major customers in multiple countries. In this role, you will be supported by our tender management team, country sales teams and operations teams. You achieve this by: 

  • identifying market trends and market developments, which you translate into potential business opportunities for global customers; 
  • managing commercial projects and offers (tenders and proactive sales) from lead generation to transfer to implementation; 
  • generating leads from country organisations and cross-divisional contacts; 
  • acting as the single point of contact for customers during the business development phase;
  • use internal support to global tender management and global account support in administrative tasks, such as tender support, after-sales support and reporting.

Your team stands out within DSV in that you will be part of a team that has an international approach. The team consists of sales professionals spread across Europe. Together, you are responsible for lead generation, their follow-up up to a winning offer. Where one person in the team focuses more on the industrial sector, the other has more focus on the healthcare sector, for example. You are all willing to help each other and then develop together.

You bring

  • solid experience within the European road transport market; 
  • strong motivation; you are able to prioritise tasks and work independently;
  • in possession of a bachelor or master degree in commercial management, transport and logistics or similar;
  • analytical skills to constructively challenge operational teams and customer requirements;
  • you have a proven track record in large B2B commercial projects and have experience in working in an international environment;
  • of course, you also have strong communication and negotiation skills.
