Supporting local communities

At DSV, we are committed to supporting and giving back to the communities we do business in. We do this through a combination of programmes and activities that respond to local and global needs, enabling us to utilise our expertise, capabilities and resources to make a difference for people and communities around the world.

Making a difference for local communities
We want to make a difference for the communities in which we operate, and we encourage local initiatives throughout our organisation to support this goal. Our local engagement and employee volunteering programmes vary from country to country, but they all seek to benefit local communities.

Delivering effective disaster response
Our global span combined with our local expertise enable us to support people in need when emergency logistics services are required. Thanks to our logistical competences, we can respond to emergencies and reach the impacted areas quickly and efficiently when natural or human-incurred disasters occur.

Through the years, we have contributed to a number of leading humanitarian organisations by offering transport solutions, warehousing and know-how, and supporting their responses to large-scale humanitarian emergencies. We assess the need for our capabilities on a case-by-case basis, so we can allocate the appropriate resources and provide the relevant services. Aligned with our local approach, we always intend to respond to humanitarian crises around the world by using our expertise locally to help people in need.

Employee engagement
Besides using our professional capabilities to facilitate an effective disaster response, many DSV employees from across the globe actively seek to make a difference for others. They do this by dedicating their personal efforts, ideas and time to help local communities deal with environmental or social challenges. This is achieved through a variety of different activities, including fighting waste pollution, recovery activities following natural disasters, supporting school programs and improving reforestation.

Further development of our community engagement programme
At DSV we are working actively to strengthening our community engagement efforts and will continue to focus on supporting local communities and projects in the countries in which we operate. Furthermore, we will leverage our community outreach efforts to promote stronger employee engagement initiatives.
